CATLIN - State Senator Scott Bennett (D-Champaign) is hosting a Senior Fraud Seminar to ensure seniors in the area know how to protect themselves from becoming a victim of fraud. Senator Bennett will also discuss other issues important to seniors and our communities.

The event is free for seniors and is co-sponsored by the Catlin United Methodist Women.

RANTOUL - Working to bring state services to residents in Rantoul, State Senator Scott Bennett (D–Champaign) and his staff will be at the Rantoul Area Chamber of Commerce building on Tuesday, September 13.  

Bennett’s office holds office hours the second Tuesday of every month to assist residents with state and local issues.

Bennett’s staff will be present to help Rantoul residents with concealed carry applications, inquiries with the Illinois Department of Employment Security, health care, veteran or disability issues, Medicare paperwork, foreclosure prevention assistance and much more.

CHAMPAIGN - State Senator Scott Bennett (D-Champaign) is excited to partner with AT&T to award $45,000 to the ICANEXSEL Program.

As the chairman of the General Assembly’s Technology Caucus, Bennett recognizes the importance technology has in growing our economy and making sure Illinois’ workforce is meeting the needs of local employers.

“As I continue to talk to local businesses, the common narrative is the need for graduates trained to meet their technology demands,” Bennett said. “ICANEXSEL is an example of a program that is training our youth innovative and technology-savvy skills to be part of our global economy.”

CHAMPAIGN - State Senator Scott Bennett, the new Vice-Chairman of the Senate’s Committee on Agriculture, is excited to announce that Illinois has a new measure to prioritize agriculture education in schools across the state. 

Bennett’s legislation that will create a grant to fund up to 50 percent of the personnel costs for agriculture education teachers, Senate Bill 2975, was signed into law today. 

“Agriculture is the backbone of our state’s economy,” Bennett said. “We need to do whatever we can to train our future farmers and prioritize agriculture curriculum in schools across our communities.”
